Now THIS was a fun project. First her partner reached out for a commission and I was happy to do one for this bean. But, it was to be a surprise gift! Now, I remember she's color blind so I worked with her to find a website emulator and the exact settings to filter a fairly accurate simulation of what she might see, all in complete secrecy. When We worked web design, developed a passion for making accessible design.
An additional perk of being Our friend is We get to use little observations and details to weave into art. So for her, We worked in how she might play with her hair (or ear, being a bunny!), her posture, her little gestures, her love for purple and the fact she's a Sierra Nevada local for the selection of local foliage for the flower crown.
Even got to deliver this one in person at BLFC 2023.
